The State Quality Mark has been established in Belarus. The corresponding Decree No. 21 was signed by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The document approved the image and description of the sign. It is a red pentagon, in the center of which there is a stylized image of an inverted letter K and the inscription “Belarus”. The five corners of the sign symbolize the quality of Belarusian products, achieved by a combination of five production indicators: safety, environmental friendliness, innovation, manufacturability and aesthetics.
The procedure for assigning the State Quality Mark and the list of incentive benefits and preferences provided to manufacturers upon its assignment will be determined by the Government.
The establishment of the State Quality Mark will help improve the quality of Belarusian goods and services.
As reported, the discussion about what the Belarusian Quality Mark should be like took place at a meeting with the Head of State on January 5. It symbolically began the President’s work schedule in 2024, declared the Year of Quality in Belarus.
When developing the State Quality Mark, the Quality Mark, which was awarded during the Soviet Union, was taken as a basis. More than 20 options were proposed, but five projects with a similar concept were selected for the final discussion - the Quality Mark is depicted in the form of a pentagon, known since Soviet times, but the details were different.
“It seems to me that there is nothing to complain about in that Soviet sign. Everything is minimal there. There is no need to artificially get away from the good, I think. There should be no excesses,” noted Alexander Lukashenko. “Neither the color scheme nor the designs should overload the sign itself.”
The first holders of the Quality Mark are expected to appear in Belarus at the end of this year.
