Drogichin is among the winners of the Healthy City project

The Brest Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health summed up the results of the regional competition of the state preventive project “Healthy city (village) of the Brest region!”, which was held in the Brest region in 2023.
The winners were determined by a jury consisting of representatives of the regional Center for State Education and Health, departments of the regional executive committee, the regional association of trade unions and the regional organization of the public association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union".

Materials on the activities carried out in 25 administrative-territorial units of the Brest region were reviewed within the framework of the state preventive project. The winners were determined in several categories.

The “Brest – Healthy City” project won the nomination “Best state preventive project “Healthy City” among regional cities.”

In the nomination “The best state preventive project “Healthy City” among cities of the district level”, three projects were highlighted: “Ivatsevichi - a healthy city”, “Pruzhany - a healthy city” and “Drogichin - a healthy city”.

The title “Best state preventive project “Healthy Village”” was awarded to the project “Rechitsa – Healthy Village”.

The winner of the nomination “Best state preventive project “Healthy agricultural town” is the project “Chernavchitsky Rural Council - Territory of Health” (Brest district).

The winners of the competition were awarded diplomas from the Brest Regional Executive Committee and souvenirs.

“Really quite a large-scale work has been done within the framework of the project,” said Vladimir Nered, deputy chairman of the district executive committee. – Measures have been taken to improve the city’s infrastructure planning, develop a barrier-free environment, provide the population with healthy nutrition, and introduce health-saving technologies in educational institutions. A large set of measures was aimed at improving working conditions in the workplace, ensuring the effective implementation of anti-tobacco legislation, increasing awareness of a healthy lifestyle, supporting the institution of family, and social adaptation of people with disabilities.”

According to specialists from the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, a significant place within the framework of the project was allocated to information, educational, cultural, mass sports, physical education, sports and tourism events, and health-saving practices were actively introduced.

“It’s very nice and worthy to be among the best. The successful implementation of the project “Drogichin – a healthy city” is the merit of all its participants. For a whole year, everyone did everything in their power so that together we could complete the task to the maximum mark,” noted Maxim Fotiev, chief physician of the regional center for hygiene and epidemiology. – We are institutions of healthcare, education, sports and tourism, culture, social services, enterprises of various forms of ownership, organizations, regional emergency services, police departments, public and religious organizations, city residents. By the way, this is not the only award last year. In December, according to the results of the regional competition for the best initiative within the framework of the state preventive project “Healthy Cities and Towns” in the nomination “Youth Audience”, the state educational institution “Gymnasium of Drogichin” (volunteer peer education team “Pulse”) took second place, and in In the nomination “Able-bodied Population”, the trade union organization of our institution took an honorable mention.
